π Biography
Boris Karloff, born William Henry Pratt, was an English actor best known for his iconic role as Frankenstein’s monster in the classic 1931 horror film Frankenstein. His portrayal cemented his legacy as one of cinema’s greatest horror actors, and he became a legendary figure in Universalβs monster movie era.
Karloffβs film career spanned over 50 years and included a wide variety of roles beyond horror. However, his performances in films like The Mummy (1932) and The Black Cat (1934) kept him closely associated with eerie and supernatural characters.
Outside of film, he also had a distinguished stage and television career, including voicing the narrator and the Grinch in the animated holiday classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (1966).
