📘 Biography
Larry Fine, born Louis Feinberg, was an American actor, comedian, and musician best known as the frizzy-haired, violin-playing member of the legendary slapstick trio The Three Stooges. His comic timing, expressive face, and manic reactions helped define the group’s style of humor, making them one of the most beloved comedy acts of the 20th century.
Fine began his career in vaudeville before teaming up with Moe and Shemp Howard, later joined by Curly Howard, to form the most iconic lineup of the Stooges. Larry played the “middle Stooge,” often caught between Moe’s aggression and Curly’s wild antics. He appeared in over 190 short films and feature films as part of The Three Stooges, spanning from the 1930s through the early 1970s.
Despite the intense physical comedy and demanding pace of filming, Fine remained a consistent performer and fan favorite. After suffering a stroke in the early 1970s, he retired from acting but continued to engage with fans. He remains a pop culture icon for comedy lovers worldwide.
