πŸ“˜ Biography

Ray Corrigan, born Raymond Benard Corrigan, was an American actor and stuntman known for his rugged roles in Westerns and action serials. Nicknamed “Crash Corrigan” for his daring screen persona, he starred in dozens of B-movies during the 1930s and 1940s.

Corrigan rose to fame as one of the original members of The Three Mesquiteers film series, playing the heroic cowboy “Tucson Smith” in many of the early entries. He was also known for donning gorilla suits in monster films, thanks to his physicality and background in stunt work.

Outside of acting, Corrigan created and owned Corriganville Movie Ranch, a popular filming location for Westerns and TV shows, which later became a tourist attraction. His contributions spanned both in front of and behind the camera, making him a foundational figure in mid-century Western cinema.
