Roy Rogers, born Leonard Franklin Slye, was an American singer, actor, and television host, widely known as the “King of the Cowboys.” He rose to fame in the 1930s and 1940s, starring in numerous Western films and radio programs. Rogers was a founding member of the musical group Sons of the Pioneers, which gained popularity with hits like “Tumbling Tumbleweeds” and “Cool Water.”
In 1938, Rogers began his film career with Republic Pictures, quickly becoming a leading figure in Western cinema. He starred in over 80 films, often alongside his horse, Trigger, and his frequent co-star and later wife, Dale Evans.
